Mental Health Hackathon Finalists

Meet the five finalists, who will compete in the Fall for the grand prize of $20,000 and the chance to use UCI as a beta launch for their big idea.

About the Mental Health Hackathon

The Hacking Student Success: Mental Health Innovation Challenge is a three-part event series where UCI students formed teams and created business ideas that support student success by addressing student mental health challenges. Twenty seven teams were formed, and each received $1,000 from the Student Startup Fund. Teams then pitched for for additional funding of $5,000. Metta World Peace was our keynote speaker at the pitch finals, talking about the importance of mental health. Now the five finalists will be competing in Fall for the $20,000 grand prize and the chance to launch their idea at UCI!

The five finalists will work over the summer through SURP (Summer Undergraduate Research Program), where they will be matched with mentors and faculty, to help them develop their MVP (Minimum Viable Product).  Watch their winning pitches below.
